elas agora t\u00eam um impacto diferente na estrutura terci\u00e1ria da prote\u00edna.\u00a0Como o artigo explica:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"tr_bq\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As prote\u00ednas existem como conjuntos de conforma\u00e7\u00f5es semelhantes.\u00a0O efeito de uma muta\u00e7\u00e3o depende das probabilidades relativas de conforma\u00e7\u00f5es no conjunto, as quais, por sua vez, dependem da sequ\u00eancia exata de amino\u00e1cidos da prote\u00edna.\u00a0As substitui\u00e7\u00f5es acumuladas alteram as probabilidades relativas de conforma\u00e7\u00f5es, alterando assim os efeitos de futuras muta\u00e7\u00f5es.\u00a0Isso se manifesta como epistasia de alta ordem, mas generalizada.\u00a0A incerteza no efeito de cada muta\u00e7\u00e3o acumula e\u00a0<b>prejudica a previs\u00e3o<\/b>.\u00a0Como os conjuntos conformacionais s\u00e3o uma caracter\u00edstica inevit\u00e1vel das prote\u00ednas,\u00a0<b>isso provavelmente \u00e9 universal<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esse acoplamento leva a uma &#8220;profunda imprevisibilidade na evolu\u00e7\u00e3o&#8221;, e os autores concluem que &#8220;previs\u00f5es evolutivas detalhadas n\u00e3o s\u00e3o poss\u00edveis, dada a qu\u00edmica das macromol\u00e9culas&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Essa descoberta parece confirmar o que muitos evolucionistas disseram h\u00e1 d\u00e9cadas \u00a0\u2014 que a evolu\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 um processo contingente, e n\u00e3o da lei:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOs acontecimentos [macro] evolutivos s\u00e3o\u00a0<b>\u00fanicos, irrepet\u00edveis<\/b>\u00a0e irrevers\u00edveis.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u2014 Theodosius Dobzhansky, 1957.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Leis e experimentos s\u00e3o t\u00e9cnicas inadequadas&#8221;
