{"id":181,"date":"2015-12-16T14:21:55","date_gmt":"2015-12-16T16:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tdibrasil.org\/?p=181"},"modified":"2021-10-10T03:48:03","modified_gmt":"2021-10-10T06:48:03","slug":"epigenetica-e-a-transferencia-horizontal-de-gene-um-novo-caminho-para-as-pesquisas-baseadas-em-design","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tdibrasil.org\/index.php\/2015\/12\/16\/epigenetica-e-a-transferencia-horizontal-de-gene-um-novo-caminho-para-as-pesquisas-baseadas-em-design\/","title":{"rendered":"Epigen\u00e9tica e a Transfer\u00eancia Horizontal de Genes: Um Novo Caminho Para as Pesquisas Baseadas em Design?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2457\" src=\"https:\/\/tdibrasil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/epigenetica.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"547\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 hip\u00f3tese lamarckiana sobre a heran\u00e7a de caracteres adquiridos, Darwin rejeitou inicialmente essa ideia, mas, devido as cr\u00edticas contra a sele\u00e7\u00e3o natural, ele a incorporou na sexta e \u00faltima edi\u00e7\u00e3o de <em>A origem das Esp\u00e9cies<\/em> (1872), considerando-a um mecanismo de adapta\u00e7\u00e3o ao ambiente (portanto, secund\u00e1rio no processo de evolu\u00e7\u00e3o) [1]. Ali\u00e1s, Darwin j\u00e1 havia tentado explicar em sua obra <em>The variation of animals and plants under domestication <\/em>(1868), de forma muito infeliz, a hereditariedade dos caracteres (inclusive dos adquiridos) por meio das hip\u00f3teses da pang\u00eanese e das g\u00eamulas [2]. Mas ao longo do tempo os darwinistas ridicularizaram essa ideia e, com os avan\u00e7os da ci\u00eancia, principalmente da Gen\u00e9tica, os neodarwinistas a exclu\u00edram definitivamente [3].<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nos \u00faltimos anos, por\u00e9m, alguns aspectos da ideia lamarckiana de heran\u00e7a de caracteres adquiridos (que, a prop\u00f3sito, n\u00e3o \u00e9 original de Lamarck) parece que voltou \u00e0 tona na Biologia atrav\u00e9s da Epigen\u00e9tica e Transfer\u00eancia Horizontal de Genes (THG) [4-6].\u00a0A <em>Epigen\u00e9tica<\/em>\u00a0diz respeito \u00e0 altera\u00e7\u00e3o herd\u00e1vel na express\u00e3o g\u00eanica, sem que haja mudan\u00e7a na sequ\u00eancia prim\u00e1ria de DNA, sendo a metila\u00e7\u00e3o do DNA e a modifica\u00e7\u00e3o de histonas, importantes mecanismos envolvidos [7]. Trata-se de um campo de estudo emergente cujas implica\u00e7\u00f5es poderiam questionar a validade do dogma central da biologia molecular. A THG, por sua vez, \u00e9 um processo pelo qual ocorre troca de material gen\u00e9tico entre esp\u00e9cies n\u00e3o relacionadas (plantas e animais) que vivem em um mesmo ambiente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para Junior Eskelsen, coordenador do portal TDI Brasil,<\/p>\n<pre style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>\"a THG \u00e9 uma explica\u00e7\u00e3o ad hoc pra v\u00e1rios casos em seres multicelulares, e o lamarckismo volta a ganhar for\u00e7a com ela. Em um ser multicelular, um c\u00f3digo que passa por THG pra seguir verticalmente deve entrar no n\u00facleo celular e ser integrado em est\u00e1gios embrion\u00e1rios ou algo parecido, assim ser\u00e1 distribu\u00eddo no desenvolvimento do indiv\u00edduo. Isso porque deve participar da produ\u00e7\u00e3o de gametas de alguma forma\"<\/em>.<\/span><\/pre>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Em 2015, um estudo experimental parece ter observado pela primeira vez um mecanismo para a heran\u00e7a de caracter\u00edsticas adquiridos, em lombrigas <em>Caenorhabditis elegans<\/em> [8]. Esse mecanismo pode ter sido limitado em seu objeto de estudo, no entanto, eles mostraram que isso acontece. Desde que a Epigen\u00e9tica entrou para o vocabul\u00e1rio, mais geneticistas conservadores tiveram de recuar do dogma central (DNA faz RNA que faz prote\u00edna) em graus variados. Nos dias de hoje, \u00e9 comum ver admiss\u00f5es de &#8220;heran\u00e7a epigen\u00e9tica&#8221; e &#8220;transfer\u00eancia horizontal de genes&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nesse estudo, os autores mostraram que algumas mudan\u00e7as ambientais parecem causar efeitos que duram algumas gera\u00e7\u00f5es \u2013 ali\u00e1s, esses efeitos podem ser revertidos em gera\u00e7\u00f5es futuras \u2212, sem quaisquer muta\u00e7\u00f5es que alterem a informa\u00e7\u00e3o no DNA [8]. Os pesquisadores descobriram um agente de transfer\u00eancia de informa\u00e7\u00e3o na forma de RNA de fita dupla (dsRNA). Esta \u00e9 a primeira vez que esse processo \u00e9 observado a afetar a linhagem germinativa. Segundo eles, os neur\u00f4nios podem transportar formas de dsRNA na linha germinativa para provocar o silenciamento de um gene que pode durar at\u00e9 25 gera\u00e7\u00f5es. Isto parece um mecanismo destinado a ajudar as gera\u00e7\u00f5es seguintes a se adaptar \u00e0s mudan\u00e7as ambientais, e a se tornar mais longevas. \u00c9 certo que isso \u00e9 bom para as lombrigas. O que dizer, ent\u00e3o, dos organismos superiores?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Os autores consideram a possibilidade de que um mecanismo similar de importa\u00e7\u00e3o de dsRNA funciona em mam\u00edferos [8]. Esse achado pode enfraquecer o neodarwinismo cl\u00e1ssico [3]. Se confirmado, n\u00e3o h\u00e1 mais esperan\u00e7a de muta\u00e7\u00f5es ben\u00e9ficas por acaso; em vez disso, outra possibilidade emergente \u00e9 a de que existam sistemas organizados e sofisticados para a transfer\u00eancia de informa\u00e7\u00e3o persistente \u2013 sem a ajuda da sele\u00e7\u00e3o natural \u2212 para o organismo e sua descend\u00eancia a partir da rea\u00e7\u00e3o a altera\u00e7\u00f5es ambientais, de modo que possa adaptar-se a uma mudan\u00e7a [9, 10]. \u00c9 bom lembrar que novos n\u00edveis de organiza\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 linguagem de <em>design<\/em>. Isso soa como um sistema pr\u00e9-programado em um organismo para um mundo de constantes mudan\u00e7as: um plano para manter a popula\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1vel quando h\u00e1 amea\u00e7a de fome, seca, calor, frio, ou outros fatores [9, 10]. O que \u00e9 intrigante \u00e9 esse n\u00edvel de organiza\u00e7\u00e3o ou meta-programa\u00e7\u00e3o que os bi\u00f3logos n\u00e3o sabiam que existia em animais. Caso se confirme, aqui est\u00e1 um novo caminho onde a pesquisa baseada em <em>design<\/em> pode assumir a lideran\u00e7a [3].<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Portanto, a seguinte quest\u00e3o ainda permanece: Lamarck estava parcialmente correto? Em minha opini\u00e3o, seria demasiadamente precipitado respond\u00ea-la. Isto porque ainda existe uma posi\u00e7\u00e3o contr\u00e1ria \u00e0 equipara\u00e7\u00e3o da Epigen\u00e9tica com a transmiss\u00e3o de caracter\u00edsticas adquiridas [6, 11]. Por outro lado, tamb\u00e9m existem m\u00faltiplas evid\u00eancias que fortalecem a ideia de a Epigen\u00e9tica ser Lamarckiana [12-19]. Logo, devemos continuar sendo imparciais, pois essa quest\u00e3o ainda est\u00e1 em debate. S\u00e3o necess\u00e1rios mais estudos aprofundados sobre o tema antes de anularmos completamente a possibilidade ou de afirmarmos categoricamente a volta da ideia lamarckista.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mas que a verdade seja dita!
